I've spent my entire life obsessed with how the human body works, and here's what drives me crazy: I watch incredible people who've worked their whole lives, finally ready to live out their bucket lists, but their bodies just won't cooperate. These are the folks who've lived the most life – the ones in their 50s, 60s, and beyond – with all this amazing wisdom and life experience. And you know what? The fitness industry practically pretends they don't exist.

Here's the thing that hit me early in my career: While training elite athletes and Navy SEALs, I noticed something deeply wrong with how we approach aging and fitness. The best minds in psychology, therapy, and fitness were all working in silos, mainly focused on younger athletes. Meanwhile, the people who needed this expertise most were being left behind.

But the real breakthrough came when I met Patricia.

I was the passionate, science-obsessed guy who'd been studying human movement since my teenage years. Patricia was the brilliant tech systems thinker who could see the bigger picture. Defying The Odds At 78… Rick Ragan’s Comeback Story:

At 78, Rick Ragan had resigned himself to a life dependent on inhalers, with rounded shoulders that made him "look like an old man" - his wife's words. Having struggled with asthma for years, he was skeptical when he first discovered The Fitness Doctor program.

… I'm in my 70s, 80s, or even 90s?

Absolutely! Our program serves clients of all ages, including members in their 90s who successfully complete the exercises and continue to improve. Age is not a barrier - it's about meeting you where you are and helping you progress safely.

...I have existing health conditions?

Yes. Our members successfully manage various conditions, from osteoporosis and joint replacements to asthma and chronic back pain.  Many have experienced significant improvements in their mobility and reduced their dependence on medications through restoring and building increased physical capability.  Depending on your condition our physiologist team will often meet with and collaborate with your medical professionals to ensure your safest and greatest health outcomes. 

What makes this different from regular exercise programs?

We focus on proper body mechanics and personalized modifications. Do I need special equipment?

No. The program is designed to work with minimal equipment in your home.  Most equipment gets in the way of developing optimal functionality and many people actually cause dysfunction within their body as a result of focusing externally versus on how their body is sensing and acting most healthfully.   We also focus on proper body mechanics and movements you can integrate into daily activities - so that you can have a great functional life not just workout.

How quickly will I see results?

Many members report feeling improvements anywhere from their first session up to within weeks. Although, the most significant changes come from compounding health results from consistent practice over time. When you begin to understand how your body should ideally function and you feel that change within you it creates a mind-body relief from acute and chronic pain.  The most enjoyable part is this restores confidence and strong capability to do all the things you love to do and even continue improving regardless of age.

What if I can't do all the exercises?

Every exercise can and will be modified to your current ability level. We emphasize doing what feels good and is personally manageable all while gradually building strength and mobility.
